Parks are open to the public from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. Dogs must be on leash in all Parks, with the exception of Burke Park, the Canine Beach (located on the west side of the Bozeman Pond), the Dog Park on the south end of the Softball Complex and the Snowfill Park on McIlhattan Road. Owners must also pick up after their pets. Doggie bags are provided at most trails heads and Parks.

Swim Lessons - The Bozeman Swim Center, 1211 W. Main, is offering swim lessons for youth ages 5 to 14, Level 1 or Level 2 on Tuesdays & Thursdays, February 14 to March 1 from 4:45 to 5:15 p.m. or on Saturdays, February 11 to March 3 from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m. An adult stroke technique class is scheduled on Saturdays, February 11 to March 3 from 10:00 to 10:30 a.m. Fee for Tuesday/Thursday class is $30 City of Bozeman resident/$42 non-resident and fee for Saturday class is $20 City of Bozeman resident/$28 non-resident. Call 582-2294 for more information. Register at the Bozeman Swim Center or by phone with a Visa, Master or Discover Charge Card. Enrollment limited.

New February Morning Preschool Class Added - Looking for a place to have fun and burn off some energy during the month of February. This class is for you! Preschoolers will be introduced to basic soccer, basketball and other indoor activities that involve balls and movement. A Have a Ball class will be offered by the Bozeman Recreation Department on Monday & Wednesday, February 6 to 29 from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. for ages 3 to 5 and from 11:00 to 11:45 a.m. for ages 2 & 3. Fee is $30 City of Bozeman resident/$42 non-resident. Space is limited so call today to get signed up. Pre-registration is required at Beall Park Recreation Center, 415 N. Bozeman, or over the phone with a Visa, Master or Discover Card by calling 582-2290.

Ice Skating Lessons - Ice skating lessons will be offered by the Bozeman Recreation Department for ages 7 - 16 at Southside Park, College & 5th. Lessons will be held on Tuesdays, February 7 – 28 from 3:45 to 4:30 p.m. Lessons will teach the basics of ice skating including skating in a straight line, gliding forward and backwards, stopping, falling and getting back up, etc. Register and pay fee of $15 City of Bozeman resident/$20 non city at the Beall Park Recreation Center, 415 N. Bozeman, or over the phone with a Visa, Master or Discover card. For more information call 582-2290.

Open Boating - Open Boating will begin on Sunday, January 29th from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m. at the Bozeman Swim Center, 1211 W. Main. Recreation swim times will be held from 12:00 to 3:00 p.m. and lap swim from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Because of safety reasons swimming is not allowed during open boating and youth 14 and under must be with an adult. Bring your own canoe or kayak and practice boating in the pool. Fee is $3 youth (ages 3 to 14) or senior (ages 60 and up) or $4 adult. For information call 582-2294.

Father & Daughter Dinner & Dance - The Bozeman Recreation Department is offering a new opportunity for daughters and dads (or grandpa, uncle, brother) to spend some quality time together. Girls of all ages are invited to bring their dad or favorite male companion for an evening of dancing and fun at the Lindley Center on Monday, February 13th from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Dinner will be provided and each young lady will receive a flower. Fee is $16 per couple ($5 each additional child) for City of Bozeman residents and $22 per couple ($7 each additional child) for non-city residents. Call 582-2290 and register with a Visa, Master or Discover card or stop by the Beall Recreation Center, 415 N. Bozeman, to secure your spot in the first annual Father/Daughter Dance. Swimming

Swim Center Hours, February 12th - The Bozeman Swim Center, 1211 W. Main, will be closed on Sunday, February 12th for short course swimming time trials from noon to 5:00 p.m. Open boating will not be held, however lap and masters swimming will be from 10:00 a.m. to noon as scheduled. The pool will re-open on Monday, February 13th with regular hours. For information call 582-2294.

Swim Center Winter Hours - The Bozeman Swim Center, 1211 W. Main, will switch to winter hours on Sunday, January 29. Recreation swims are Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday and Sunday from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. Lap swims are Monday through Friday from 5:30 – 11:45 a.m., 12:00 – 1:00 p.m., and 6:15 – 8:00 p.m.; Saturday from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m.; and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Water fitness classes will be held Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:00, a.m.; Tuesday and Thursday at 9:15 a.m.; Monday through Thursday at 5:30 p.m.; and Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Open Boating on Sundays from 3:00 to 4:30. Fees are $3 youth/senior, $4 adult or free with a Swim Center Pass. For information call 582-2294.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Gallatin County is a proven prevention program for youth.  Gallatin County BBBS serves children through a community based program and five school based programs.  If you are interested in being a Big Brother, Big Sister, or Big Family, or want to learn more about these programs, see the website at http://www.bigbrotherssisters.org

Boy Scouts: Serves boys between the ages of 7 and 18 through a year-round program. Boy Scouts also serves both boys and girls between the ages of 14 and 21 through a high adventure program called Venturing. Boys and Girls Club of Southwest Montana: Youth development programs for boys and girls. The program has Camps and programs from 7:30 am until 10:00 pm during the summer. During the School year there are programs during the day for home schoolers and after school for until 10:00 pm for others. A new facility opened in April of 2005 at 600 Bridger Canyon Rd. Bozeman Area Bicycle Advisory Board (BABAB) The Board operates in an advisory capacity to the City Commission in matters relating to enhanced bicycle circulation, community-wide bicycle education and safety programs, and other matters relating to bicycling in the Bozeman area. Click here. The board has also developed an interactive trail map outlining bike routes throughout the Bozeman Area.

Bozeman Bike Kitchen Community members come to the Bozeman Bike Kitchen (BBK), 415 E Aspen St, to learn to repair bikes, "cook" up new bikes from broken ones, and enjoy a culture of bicycles as transportation and fun. BBK collects donated bikes and provides the tools and volunteer mechanics to help anyone interested in learning. Bikes are then distributed to Bozeman citizens that couldn't otherwise afford a bike. Work nights every Tuesday from 6 - 8.

Bozeman City Band Open to adult, university and high school musicians. Members are paid and the band performs eight concerts in the summer. Contact John Halko 563-4293.

Bozeman Senior Center: Located at 807 N. Tracy, the Senior Center offers a wide range of activities and services for adults 50 and older, including travel, recreation and legal services. There is also a wellness center offering fitness classes and some medical services. Meals are served at midday Monday through Friday at a suggested cost of $2.75. Annual membership is $12 per year. Bozeman Youth Initiative: BYI connects high school youth to their community through youth-driven programs, supported by adult mentors. Youth Productions: an event production team show that showcases local young talent. Bike Club: Young riders organize bike tours to promote sustainability. Greenhouse Bus: Youth are converting a school bus into a greenhouse and will mentor elementary school kids, teaching them about local food systems. Montana Wilderness Association offers programs such as Wilderness Walks, one of the most enduring and popular outdoor education programs in the country and “Wilderness and…” a series of lectures recommended for area newcomers, families, outdoor enthusiasts and anyone with a passion for wild places and protecting Montana’s wildlands. Wilderness Walks provides a great opportunity to learn about nature and Montana’s wild heritage by exploring the landscape with a knowledgeable walk leader and fellow hikers. The free guidebook features 119 walks this year, in wildlands all across Montana. There’s a walk for everyone from a mile stroll to multiple-day backpack trips. All walks are led by volunteers donating their time, energy and knowledge—and their passion for Montana’s wild landscapes. The "Wilderness and..." program is free and open to the public. Neighborhood Involvement:
Allyson Bristor is the Neighborhood Coordinator for the City of Bozeman. Her role is to act as the liaison between the InterNeighborhood Council and the City. She can advise those interested in starting a neighborhood organization and is a resource for Bozeman residents for city related policies, procedures, news and information. The Neighborhoods Program aids in organizing citizen focus groups, volunteer events, informational charettes and neighborhood and inter-neighborhood meetings in an effort to keep the residents of Bozeman informed and active in their community and local government.
